Im having trouble downloading patch 1.5

Hi, I bought empire earth 2 gold off GOG and downloaded it.

I downloaded the unofficial patch 1.5 via this link https://www.ee2.eu/patch/

Each time I try and open the file with hl2.exe I get the following error

' Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'hl2'. Check your - game parameter or VCONFIG setting. '

Any chance someone could help me out? Im not tech savy at all

So my file is called "ee2_update_100-140_159.exe". Why can't you just open them with a double click?

What is "hl2.exe"? This files doesn't come with the patch.

The downloaded file should be: ee2_update_100-140_159.exe

It should open this installer:

[Aqua]

Fixed, Microsoft Smartscreen was stopping me opening the file.

It's hard for me to answer this question, as it seems to be more various now than before.

You could try looking at the Multiplayer Rating System Log website: https://ee2.eu/multiplayer/rating/?skir ... 30&search=
It shows the epochs, map, game type that was used in the multiplayer game.

I think random epochs are now mostly used, on medium pace. However, many games have the crown system disabled by host, so it's usually not the same as years ago. In my opinion the game is very well balanced now, but I'm not the right person to provide answers as I'm too long with this game, and sometimes I see things as I want them to be, not as they really are.
