---- What does it make? ----


This till is a help to create accurate it realistic maps for EE2 or Aos. It use a trick to create a gigantic under building Texture to overlap the map.
That is a great help, so that you only must paint on the lines, that are to see on the map.
So you only musst google a pictar from a map, and you can very fast create a new realistic map with acurate proparations. Bye bye the raster or the unrealistic maps.

In Editor you can set a helper Unit and can rotate there, like a normal unit. She is under "Animals".

Put the zips and the ee2x_zips folder in the EE2 mainfolder.

---- How work with it? ----

In folder "LoewsMapMakingHelp" is the file "map.tga". Open this textur with gimp or Photshop and overwriting it with your own map. You can google a picture or make yourself a fantasy map.
In Editor you can than place this map as big texture on the map. Make the textur a bit transparence, so it easyer to overpaint there.
Now you can create with this a acurate planed map in EE2 and his Addon AoS.

Of course, you can set the size from this Texture.

Open with Notepad or a other text programm the file MapRasterSetting.ddf You fond in the this values:

UndertextureSizeX = 200
UndertextureSizeY = 200


Change the values so, that there displayed good the map size. Put the file in the terrain folder inside of the db_155.zip. or for AoS EE2X_db_155.zip and overwrite the old file. Now start the game. Of course, that is a little bit testing to found the right values. But that it fast. If you will, you can chanche the size of the tga file. Test the size and the values from MapRasterSetting.ddf, so long, untill they are suitable for your map.

Nice work, but this Tool currently has logical problem.
It's never good to overwrite db_155.zip or EE2X_db_155.zip. Those are the core UP1.5 files that get overwritten after every minor update. What's worse, if someone downloads this tool damages his EE2 installation by using partially outdated files. For example, this Tool is already incompatible with today's 157018 update. I don't think it's a good idea to update this tool after every Minor Update. With time it will get tiring.

I think the DDF from this file should be in a separate .zip, and db_155.zip units index would read MapRasterSetting.ddf from a separate archive.
Another good solution could be preparing many fixed size sets: 50x50, 50x100, 100x100, 150x100, 150x150, 150x200, 200x200. etc. Then everything that's needed would be editing a .tga file.

A seperate ddf file is a good idea. I can make that, but the creating from fixed size sets is to many entrys for the editor. That would be confusing. This tool is for experiented user, so its enough, if there createt for the map his own size. Are only 2 values to edit.

PS: Is planed that to add as tool for unofficial patch?

You're right. No sense to make more entries, if an user has to edit .tga anyway.
