Post and Watch Games

Well, as less and less people are playing against my 1 vs. 1 games, I more and more settle for "observing" other games and also succumb to viewing recorded games which I played against famous players. Care less why, I am running out of my games and those I am allowed to observe which are very "conforming" to very "predictable" scenarios ( archers + catapults ).

So, I would like to start a thread where anyone can upload their interesting game for other's to see for entertainment and ("hint-hint") education.
Upload your game here with a modest description.

Recorded games are located in this folder:
C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\Documents\Empire Earth II\playback\
if you place recorded game in this folder you can view it at your leisure. One thing thought, if you have million saved games there, your computer will look like it is freezing. It is because poor CPU has to shuffle through all those games. Keep your memorable games in a folder of your choice and name, frequently cleaning this folder in order to be able loading recorded games fast. All games have format: (2018_10_12)_(10_17).e2s and what I do -- is renaming them with a different name such as player, similar to this:
(2018_01_18)_(12_42)Coo1_Tojo.e2s
so I know who played.

In this particular game (2018_01_18)_(12_42)Coo1_Tojo.e2s which was on continents I had 3 land masses and Tojo had just 2. Out of decency I did not occupy the 3rd land to be fair, but Tojo was greedy -- he did take my 3rd land mass. I had to "evict" this notorious individual. All being fair I took the land which was mine to start with and finished Tojo off. Like a Samurai to took the faith coming to him with pride and dignity for which I have much respect. Also, not always archers + catapults are a good scenario...

So, if you have an interesting game, please upload it here. Maybe it will make in the "Hall of Fame" with public vote roster?

• HOW TO VIEW RECORDED GAMES:
===============================================================================================
(1) download file of the recorded game in this folder
EE2 --> C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Empire Earth II\playback
AoS --> C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Empire Earth II The Art of Supremacy\playback
(2) make sure that the playback directory does not have many files, or the playback will load really slow
(3) start the game and reveal the map to see everything

Respect, be the best, play fair and hard and kill'em all.
As always, Coo1

Good idea with the topic, but I would also like to recommend posting screenshots after games to: viewforum.php?f=20
Then every game would have a separate topic with screenshots and a playback file could be attached there as well.

Well, yesterday (01/14/2019) I had a stupidity to get myself in one of "those" games... It was 4 players, FFA, with custom settings. The sets were bizarre, I don't even want to remember it. Anyway, I signed up for the game, I had to play it out (regretting it now). It was 1 vs. 3 actually, as three friends trying to kill me. I did not mind them killing me, the problem was it was so s..l..o..w...ow... -- I though I would lose my mind. But I had a bottle of cheap whiskey and all the time I have until I kick the bucket. Man, it was agony... I am not telling what happened, you have to see it yourself... (hint -- get something to eat, like in movie theater)

Post Your Game -- please let me know why this guy resigned? he was winning!

I was completely smitten with cheap whiskey, listening to this: https://streamer.radio.co/s2c3cc784b/listen when this person was really aggressive and pushing me to the limits... I though I did loose this game, oh well... what can you do... You win some and you lose some... I guess, a shot of cheap whiskey is worth it and I thought I lost, but he resigned. Am I crazy? Dear people please tell me I am not crazy. I guess nobody will...

Post Your Game Turks guerrilla war against Korean sneak attack

Once more I am volunteering to post an interesting and intense game I played with Dr.Who -- we both were horses nation -- Korean and Turkish. The game starts in Age III and is very intense with Turkish adopting guerrilla warfare while Koreans adopted defense tactics -- not without a surprise though. A sneak attack by Koreans really placed Turkish city center in stress. This game shows importance of micro management and resource watching in 1 vs. 1 games, indeed...
It was a nice friendly game, but extremely intense.
It is a short-ish duration game -- just about 20 minutes. In fast playback it is very quick!
Post your games, place the file in this EMPTY (or just a few files) directory C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\Documents\Empire Earth II\playback and enjoy watching a movie while sipping whatever your drink is!

Here is a rare game. I wouldn't post mundane time killer.
Coo1 vs. Cata in settings not permitting any advantage. We played RANDOM from zero (nada, nothing). It was very intense game -- like a see-saw...
To say the truth, if not Monks the outcome of the game wouldn't be so clear. Indeed, monks did it!
If someone has an interesting game, why not to upload it here? Of course, only winning games count (ʘ‿ʘ)

Post Your Game - Interesting game ROMANS vs. TURKISH

In my quest to play long interesting games, I have found one player who consistently is improving. I start thinking that this player is going to kill me on a regular basis sometimes in the future. I am not sure how distant that future is though. Anyway, this is a game with 2x200 population on a large Pangaea map. I was Romans against Turkish. We both played well, the only thing I could say that my opponent did not use his superior horse units in the beginning of the game. I would be in much worse condition if early horses would torment my villagers.
This game shows that using your army is more important compared to micro-management of the villagers. I did set up decent economy with means to protect it and then methodically started to attack my opponent. His problem was that *horses do not rule!* I was using melee units which have advantage over cavalry. If my opponent would use archers against my melee units I would be in much worse condition.
We both steady advanced from age 1 to age 11 -- not too often I can see both players advancing to those high ages. If you want to see how it all ended, here is the game.

Post Your Game -- Greeks vs. Turkish on Medium Plains Map - once more heavy infantry rule!

Posted: 27 Aug 2019, 23:46
by Coo1
The title should have determined which civilization would win by default. Turkish on small/medium plains rule!. However, with the right strategy Greek hoplites have certain advantage. In this game fairly experienced player played Turkish and I was Greeks. As usual, in this kind of games, the barrack goes up first. We both did it. The population count went equal as usual. Turkish player got carried away with collecting gold and tin, shorting couple of citizens from food/wood. With the right defense and timely attack, Greek hoplites decimated dreaded Turkish cavalry. Take a look, it may give you some insights...

Extreme example of Babylonian War on medium Pangea map

Interesting game happened tonight. I played against ArkAngel, we both were Babylonians starting at Age 1 with zero resources and zero citizens. I call it ultimate bab war. The game started very predictably, with the difference in resource management. ArkAngel went for Barracks first, I built Warehouse. The game started normally with both players developing and building the army at about the same pace. At one moment I forgot to keep producing citizens and fell behind in total count. But I concentrated on army.

The highlight of the game was how differently we both managed resource gathering and utilizing the army. At one point we both sent our archers to each other's camps to kill civilians and we both moved citizens out of citicenters. Then it was very crucial mistake by ArkAngel -- by scattering archers to look for my villagers, while I instead produces couple of scouts to locate the enemy. It ended that I was able to destroy small bands of ArkAngel's archers one by one, while keeping my army intact. The scouts located enemy very easily and I moved my army to finish off ArkAngel's citizens. As a very good player, the surrendered followed immediately.

Take a look it is a quick going game with tons of learning details for you. Unfortunately as usual with good players, the outcome is very clear very-very soon. The game started and ended in Age 1.

Good luck and kill'em all.

Great Idea! Sorry I did not realize right away how it would work. As you said each post would have just one game and a good descriptive title. Would it be possible for you, as a Moderator, to relocate my multi-posts in that section and to divide it in separate posts? I would continue posting as you suggests afterwards.
Thanks for your help. Coo1
