Are AA's supposed to shoot down Missile?

I've noticed (since last update on Feb 2022) that the AA's are able to shoot down missiles, when they come in range. This shouldn't happen, as only the Anti-Missile systems should have that ability. I don't remember this happening in the original game, does anyone else?

The Anti-Missile system in Unofficial Patch 1.5 is way better and more advanced. It's because Radar allows to detect incoming missiles from a much greater range, and the Anti-Missile units have a greater range. They are also using dozens of workarounds to prevent them from firing all anti-missiles on the first incoming ballistic missile, that's why they're so useful in epochs 13-14. In epoch 15, AAs (laser) are very effective as well. In epoch 13 it was impossible to intercept missiles before UP1.5.

Okay, was just making sure. Because the AI love to scatter AA all over the place, which makes it very difficult to use missiles.

I love this game as much today, as I did when it first came out! I really appreciate all the work that goes into it, to keep it alive and relevant... because there really is nothing out there today that comes close (in my opinion). Thank you for the fast response!
