Are weather and seasons impossiblke on the map editor?

Post by Gonzalo »

Hi, I have played around with seasons and have added seasons and weather (buttons) to scenario editor:

But the problem (and therefore my question) is...is possible to make that these widgets work on scenario editor games without modifying the executable??

Any hint would be appreciated, as always...

What are those checkboxes currently doing? Do seasons cycle in "Test Mission"?

You currently have Dawn time of day (based on shadows), but it says "Afternoon".

To first question: no, seasons don't change on test mission, that's just what I mean to achieve...
To the second: I have interchanged terrain settings for almost all climates between "afternoon" and "evening" that's why it appears that afternoon is sunrise.

Adding buttons / checkboxes won't magically make their expected functions to work. So no.

You can try to understand this method: viewtopic.php?p=24879#p24879
However, users reported that it doesn't work. Maybe they are just bad at "editing" stuff, so it's always worth to give a try.

The widgets I have taken from db_widgets_fe.csv (skirmish) and pasted into dbwidget_scenedit5.csv...
P. D. I have tried the "settings edition" solution, the first time there appeared winter season on loading scenario editor, when testing that time game crashed, the rest of the attempts I have made have only changed player number or map geography (always temperate). I am afraid that there's nothing that we can do. I of course have enabled seasons and weather on my new widgets alternatively to editing settings.cfg, but same result :(((((

Adding / copying buttons, checkboxes or whatever won't magically make their functionality work. I could add "Enable DirectX 12" checkbox to UP1.5 Settings, and that would mean absolutely nothing, fake checkbox without any functionality under the hood. The same with EE2, there are no functions to check for those buttons states in the executable while in the Map Editor. All attempts will fail.

I don't know, google it?
I personally never read any book like this. I read maybe 10 books in my whole life, and it includes two parts of Winnie the Pooh.
