Unofficial Patch 1.4 supports only 3 widescreen, 16:9 resolutions:

* 1366x768 (usually used by 15.6" laptops)
* 1600x900 (usually used by 17,3" laptops)
* 1920x1080 (for Full HD monitors).

If your monitor supports one of them, you should be able to select it in game settings.

Hello guys. I have some problem, i get EE2 from gog.com and patch 1.4 work good, i have maps, population and all other stuffs but i can't change res. i have only 1024x768 and 800x600. I have win8.1 and res 1600x900

Witam. Mam pewien problem. Mam EE2 z gog.com, łatka 1.4 działa dobrze mam wszystko poza zmianą rozdziałki. Poprostu jej nie ma jest tylko 1024x768 i 800x600. Mam windowsa 8.1 i rozdziałke 1600x900

Być może masz ekran 4:3 lub 16:10 - w takim wypadku rozdzielczości 16:9 mogą nie działać.
W teorii jeśli Twoja rozdzielczość ekranu wynosi 1600+ x 900+ to gra powinna normalnie pokazywać ją w opcjach ale wiem, że np. jak ludzie mają 1650x1050 to nie zawsze rozdzielczość 1600x900 jest dostępna.
Jeśli nie grasz Multiplayer'a, a chciałbyś pograć sobie na pełnej rozdzielczości swojego ekranu - spróbuj tego programu:

Empire Earth II - Unofficial patch 1.4 LITE
Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy - Unofficial patch 1.4 LITE

This is a special version of Unofficial Patch 1.4 Update 2.0 - LITE.
The LITE version is only 17,7 MB and it's recommended for users with slow Internet connection (shorter download time).
In version LITE the following features will be not available in game:
- Sample Music for EE2Amp
- 120 EE2 and EE2X maps
- Multiplayer Scenarios

EE2 Amp is still available, but you need to paste some MP3 files to UserMusic (1.4) folder.
You will be still able to play online with people who installed FULL version of Unofficial Patch 1.4 Update 2.0

At first Thank you for your work.
Unfotunately I had no luck starting EE2 Gold Edition on windows 8.1 by using the batch or patch 1.4.

I bought that game on mcgame. It's the Gold Edition, so I found ee2.exe and ee2x.exe. None of the two worked.
The game is still jumping out.
Do you have any Ideas?

My System:
lenovo thinkpad edge E130
windows 8.1
Intel Core i3
Intel HD 4000

Hi carnby!
Did you start Windows 8 FIX, before you started the game?

Run one of the following files:
EE2-Windows8-by.DrMonaLisa.bat - for EE2
EE2X-Windows8-by.DrMonaLisa.bat - for EE2X
Then start the game by EE2.exe or EE2X.exe file and it should work fine.
You can also start the game by: EE2-v1.4.exe or EE2X-v1.4.exe then everything you need will start automatically.

I did that. Explorer closes like on youtube, but the game jumps out. If I try alt+tab the game jumps out again.

@carnby, what's your maximum screen display resolution? Did you turn off all background programs? (like skype, xfire, antivirus, etc.?).

Max screen res is 1366x768. I'll try turning the off.

The same when turning backgroundprograms off. Mcaffee could only be deactivated.
