Hello my name is juan. I'm from chile. I apologize for my English is not very good. My problem and I am a big fan of the game for many years. A few days ago I uy a new laptop but when playing exploding atomic bombs and other but not see. I have a nvidia Geforce 820M. I would like to know if this is solvable. Thank you very much.

Hello.
This is a known problem, happens with Intel HD graphics cards.

For now there's no solution for this problem but:
1. You can download Unofficial Patch 1.5: http://forum.ee2.eu/t1723-ee2-1.5
The newest important news:

The players who have got a NVIDIA graphics card should update their drivers to version: 344.11+. It's because Empire Earth II doesn't work correctly with the corrupted drivers (ver. 337.88 - 340.52). Please note that the Intel HD drivers are still not working correctly with EE2 (no explosion effects in game). For now I haven't found any good solution, and Intel ignores our reports saying it's a "Computer Manufacturer's problem"... SOLUTION 2 - Graphics bugs on Intel HD GPU.

* This solution will work only if you have got the second GPU from Nvidia.
* Go to Nvidia Control Panel, Click the right mouse button in a free place on your desktop, then select "NVIDIA Control Panel" from the list:



* Follow the numbers from screenshots:




1. Click on "Manage 3D settings";
2. Click on "Program Settings";
3. Click on "Add" button;
4. Find Empire Earth or/and Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest;
5. Click on the "Add Selected Program" button;
6. Click on the button under: "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program";
7. Select: "High-performance NVIDIA processor" from the list;
8. Click on the "Apply" button.

This is an orientation for Empire Earth 1, but for Empire Earth 2 it will be the same, just in 4 you'll have to select EE2/EE2X.
If the problem is still present - please click "Browse" (in 4) and add EE2.exe/EE2X.exe from the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sierra\Empire Earth II\Unofficial Patch Files\EnabledUP15Units" folder.

4. Change your Windows Power Mode to: "high performance":

Thank you very much for responding. The problem remains the game is still running with Intel HD 4000.

Do you mean graphics card?
You must update it, because previous drivers don't work correctly with EE2.
So please do *2 and *3, else the game will be still using Intel HD.
I don't think something wrong can happen while updating drivers, so don't worry about it.

Go to the folder where EE2 is installed (by default it is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sierra\Empire Earth II"), right mouse click on EE2.exe (or EE2X.exe), and select: Run with graphics processor -> High-performance NVIDIA processor:


What graphics card is detected in Empire Earth II settings?

If I try it. detects the intel hd 4000 and disable microsoft detects standard. (if I remember correctly)

Very strange problem... For me it always detects GTX 870M, even when I start EE2 with Intel HD graphics card.

In NVIDIA GeForce Experience app, what graphics card drivers version it shows? 344.48?

Download the newest Intel HD drivers:

1. Remove Nvidia drivers in the device manager
2. Remove Intel HD drivers in the device manager
(select option: "remove drivers from the hard drive" or something like this)
3. Install Intel HD drivers
4. Install Nvidia drivers

If you can, please edit file "UnofficialVersionConfig.txt" (from EE2 root folder), and change StatisticsModName="Official" to something different, like: StatisticsModName="Official_juan11220". Thanks to that I'll be able to identify unofficial patch 1.5 logs from you. Maybe it will help to identify issue.
