Re: map editor season cycle
All right copy that! Shame but it's understandable. So theoretically, you would say that one would HAVE to do some assembling work (literally like sifting through a haystack in search of a needle) in order to bring into EEII a functional time of day status in .scn files? I suppose there is no workar...

Re: map editor season cycle
Ok. [awesome explanation] Could you please check if the time of day is saved after you save the Test Mission from your scenario? It should be. I'm not really surprised that scenarios don't remember those settings, since they don't even have an option to select it, probably functions for saving are ...

Re: map editor season cycle
OH SWEET thanks so much for trying this out and making that epic post!! I will try it out this evening (after dinner) and will report back as soon as I can!!! 1 hour 57 minutes 51 seconds I am so close dammit, but I haven't gotten the pointer address to change yet! Sorry for sucking hard at this but...

Re: map editor season cycle
Theoretically you can do this. You can set other time of day values there (0 to 3 I think). But getting pointer from 0CF8568, then finding +1C offset isn't something that can be done easily or instantly :/ Good to know it is within the realm of the possible! I half understand the technical hurdle, ...

Re: map editor season cycle
Sorry, it's impossible without heavier debugging. For EE2 I made it this way: [...] 90% of players dislike Cycle time of day, make sure that you really want to have it used in your scenario. Holy crap, thanks for sharing, it's just a bit above my head! Yes I know why cycle time of day is rather imp...

Re: map editor season cycle
I hear ya, but I will love you forever if you manage to make cycle time of day available for scenario making! Will be patient!Dr.MonaLisa wrote: ↑19 Nov 2020, 13:48 Yes, impossible.
We could try with the cycle time of day, but it's complicated procedure, and I would need to search a lot.

Re: map editor season cycle
Ah right, thanks for reminding me.
I suppose it is basically impossible to retrieve info from those .dll files ?

Re: map editor season cycle
Thanks for testing. Too bad it doesn't work. Keep in minds that .IES scripting was added with the official patch 1.2. Scenarios were made by developers using their own tools, for version 1.0. So we can't expect everything to be the same. Yeah  Of note though, The Art of Supremacy also had scen...

Re: map editor season cycle
Hey Mona, I tested your idea for settings.cfg - which presumably allows for cycling of seasons AND can enable Cycle Time of Day - with EEII (not expansion yet) Developers and Normal 1.5. It didn't seem to work properly (whether you consider launching EEII editor with the Developers or Normal 1.5 gam...
